My name is Thomas
I am a Glasgow based Security specialist, I lead the IT Security function for the producer of some of the world’s best and best-loved Scotch whiskies. My organisation has a global footprint spanning all of the worlds continents, it is my job to ensure that we can continue to do business in the modern world securely.
All opinions expressed on this blog are my own and do not necessarily represent those of my employer. I am not authorised to speak for them and make no claim to do so.
Away from work, security takes much of my free time. I am a security enthusiast with an interests across the security and tech spectrum. From pen testing to open source intelligence to Linux to social engineering to compliance to malware analysis to vulnerability management and beyond and I have a deep interest in hacker culture.
This blog is not intended for anyone in particular other than myself, it serves as nothing more than a collection of (mainly security) ramblings and exists to allow me to brain dump some of my thoughts somewhere I can come back and look at later. If anyone else finds anything on here interesting or useful, that is also cool.
Away from security I am a proud father of two and husband. I love music (punk, grunge etc), F1 (McLaren), Linux (various) and watching pro-wrestling with my daughter.
Oh, and if you are wondering about the name of this blog it is an amalgamation of the words, Network and Transmission or as it is abbreviated in telecommunications: Tx.
